Smart heating does not mean sacrificing comfort. It means stopping the warming of empty rooms and pre-heating at the right time, when the energy is cheap or comes from your own panels. HoumeOS controls the climate room by room and connects it to the forecast and to the energy flow.

Temperature room by room

Instead of one thermostat for the whole flat, every room has its own setpoint and its own schedule. The living room warms while you are in it; the bedroom stays cooler for sleep; the bathroom heats up just before you use it.

The forecast as an ally

The system reads the weather forecast and decides when and how much to heat, rather than waiting for the indoor temperature to fall sharply. An earlier, gentler intervention usually costs less than a hard catch-up heating run.

Pre-heating before you come home

The modes in the morning and evening scenarios warm the bathroom and kitchen before you get up or before you return. The point is to walk into a room that is already warm, not to stand waiting by the radiator.

A heat pump works best when it is smooth

A heat pump is most efficient running continuously at moderate values, not cycling on and off as setpoints jump up and down. So the automation holds a stable regime instead of interrupting it with abrupt settings.

Solar surplus as fuel

When the panels produce a surplus, part of it goes into hot water and into the buffer that later assists the heating. Energy that would otherwise leave for the grid at a buy-back price stays home and keeps working.
