Smart home system

A smart home system that lives in your network

Your whole home. One screen. Under your control.

HoumeOS unites energy, climate, lighting, security and smart devices in one platform that runs locally and does not depend on the cloud.

In short

A smart home system is software plus a small server that bring the devices of a house — heating, air conditioning, lighting, blinds, cameras, locks, solar, irrigation — into one interface with rules and history. HoumeOS is a local system: the rules run on a server inside your home, not in a cloud, and keep working when the internet goes down.

What you control

The kiosk has thirteen screens in Bulgarian — each one for an activity in the house, not for a brand of devices. The same interface lives on a wall panel, a tablet, a phone and a computer.

  • Home — an overview of the whole house and quick actions
  • Energy — solar, battery, grid, consumption and cost
  • Climate — rooms, target temperatures and modes
  • Water — main valve, meter, recirculation, irrigation
  • Security — alarm, doors, cameras, faults
  • Scenes and Automations — rules and scenes in a visual editor
  • Rooms — a schedule and its own target for every room
  • Devices — an honest connection state: offline, online, unknown
  • Integrations, Profiles, History and a lock screen with a PIN

How it is built

The interface is only one of the clients. The logic sits on the server: rules, modes, history and permissions execute where the devices are visible, not where a person is looking.

  • The browser speaks HTTP and SSE: a snapshot on connect, a stream of states after
  • A local server on your network — authentication, rules, history, profiles
  • One contract towards devices, home/v1, regardless of the manufacturer
  • The system keeps working when no screen is switched on

Rules and scenes without programming

A scene is a trigger, conditions, exceptions and an action. The editor is visual for both rules and scenes; scenes are stored on the server and every action inside one is checked against permissions.

  • Room schedules driven by the same automation engine
  • Global modes: Home, Away, Night, Holiday
  • An explanation of why every executed rule left a trace in the journal

People and permissions

Profiles are administered from the tablet. The PIN is verified on the server, not in the interface; critical actions require confirmation and every attempt is written into the audit log.

  • Administrator, Household and Guest with different rights per screen and command
  • Rights for audio zones, for water, for security — assigned, not assumed
  • An audit by profile, device and time

History you can trust

Seven days of raw samples, thirty-one days of event journal, thirteen months of aggregated data. The data survives a sudden power cut because it never leaves your network.

Frequently asked questions

What is a smart home system?

A smart home system is software and a small server that connect the devices of a house into one model, keep rules about them and write down history. HoumeOS does it locally: devices speak into one model and the rules execute inside your network rather than in a cloud that is not yours. The result is one screen for energy, climate, lighting, irrigation, security and scenes instead of several disconnected apps.

Do I need a cloud account?

No. HoumeOS has no cloud account and does not require one. Telemetry, histories and profiles are stored on the server inside your local network and never leave it. There is no sign-up and no subscription for the core functionality, and no dependence on a service that could shut down or change its terms.

Does it work without the internet?

Yes. Rules, modes and control execute locally and keep working during a complete loss of internet connectivity. The only things that disappear with the connection are the remote view and external sources such as the weather forecast, and they come back when the connection does.

How many screens are there and what do they look like?

Thirteen: Home, Energy, Climate, Water, Security, Scenes, Automations, Devices, Rooms, Integrations, Profiles, History and a lock screen with a PIN. All of them are in Bulgarian with large, readable controls, because they are designed for a wall panel or a tablet rather than for a mouse.

How do I order it and what does it cost?

It starts with a demonstration and a survey of the property, then a measured proposal follows: equipment, protocols and scenarios configured for your house. We work with professional installers, so the system carries responsibility and a warranty towards the client. Request a demonstration from this site or at contact@houmeos.com.

The demo starts from your question: which devices, which protocols, which scenarios.
